Sugar

"Sugars: Natural & Artificial
Most people see artificial sugar as healthier alternatives to using natural sugar, but are they better for you? The reason that artificial sugar is seen as a healthy alternative to natural sugar is because artificial sugar contains fewer calories than natural sugar. However, not everything is as good as it sounds. Understand the pros and cons to make an informed choice. Marthsi Tsitsiwu, a Health Counselor from Martsi Synchronized Wellness will help you make an informed choice.

I especially appreciated Mika's comments about how most sodas and snacks are not just poorly labeled; they ought not be considered food at all. They are "poison", she said - "garbage".

Quality Consumer Foods and Commercial Foods | ConAgra Foods

Sent to them today out of disgust:
“Do your meals taste so bad without salt that you must add
to Bertolli Meals for One 45-50-% of the daily recommended salt? You should
either find someone who knows how to cook or cease offering these items. It's
insulting to us consumers to think you can offer us such nutritional trash.”
And their next day response:
Thank you for your email concerning our Bertolli Meals.
I’m so sorry to hear you do not care for the sodium content of our products. I will be sure to share your comments with those who work on this product line.

We recognize the various dietary needs our consumers might have, and we are pleased to offer a wide variety of products that fit into a healthy diet. Several of our product lines, for example Healthy Choice, Eggbeaters, Hunt's tomatoes, and Orville Redenbacher's popcorn, offer reduced sodium options. In addition, we have made a pledge to reduce sodium by 20% by 2015, so please keep checking the labels.

We recommend that you check individual product labels for specific sodium levels, and that you consult with your health care professional about how ConAgra Foods products can fit into your diet.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Have a great day!

Frozen Kroger turkey breast

Sent to Kroger today:
“I took advantage of a special offer you advertised for frozen turkey breast about a week ago, in your Durham, NC store. In the breast was a packet to be used in making gravy. Because I grilled the turkey, I had no drippings to add to that packet and so tried it without any drippings. It smells and tastes quite bad, burned badly when I heated it following the directions, and was most unpleasant without any clear explanation of what is in it other than a long list of items, some of which I've not previously encountered. You would do better to sell the breast without the packet.”
