France 3 Côte d’Azur - JT 12/13 Côte d'Azur

Stories of restaurants affected by Tram construction. We should all patronize them! Le Relax, La Mise au Verre, and L'Assiette.

La Cuisine Niçoise

They just added more restaurants. Unbelievable that they have not added them here!

Monpotager.com

This is fantastic. Why not in NC?

Le 20 heures du 27 avril 2015 - Le journal de 20h - Replay

Good story on mon potager here, toward the end. I like the idea of being able to select items instead of getting whatever they have which may not be what one wants or will eat.

Des poissons surgelés gonflés à l’eau

I think there was an update today on frozen fish.

L'Auberge Chez Francois - Ranked Top French Restaurant in DC area

Another great example of a restaurant in its garden! Also one of the very best.

Leader Price express

We now have one at the bottom of Mont Boron and want to check it out.

Nos produits | Fleury Michon

Interesting commercial with Alaska fishermen.

Restaurant La Chassagnette

Featured on France2 at 13h today. Wonderful! This is fabulous and we need a place like this in Chapel Hill! What I liked best was the idea that the veggies are at the center of each plate and fish or meat are accompaniments and that when you do get around to eating here, you did it in the middle of the garden!

Eggplant | SNAP-Ed Connection

These are very useful pages from USDA, this one dealing with eggplant.

Olive-killing Xylella bacteria found in France but experts say don't panic - France - Italy - RFI

Piece on local France3 this evening about how concerned local olive growers are about this.

Restaurant Le Panice Gay Friendly Nice

Might be interesting. Note the gay friendly part, increasingly a Nice attribute.
It all seems to be breaded.
It all seems to be breaded.

Nice - bought their sweet potatoes in Nice today at Lidl!

News item today on NC strawberries but no sign of it here!

Triangle Community Foundation | Ways to Give

But this form does not provide the option! Ok, I see it now under human rights, etc. But there is no option to say one or more families of 4 - here is my $22 for each.

Community Dinner

This is great - buy another family a meal!

Upcoming Events

Neat. Supermarkets ought to invest in doing the same sorts of events with what they are selling and respond to questions about the source of everything.

Hummus and 5 Other Foods You Shouldn’t Eat This Week | TIME

Interesting and helpful, though discouraging to see all of these.

Taqueria La Unica - Monroe | Urbanspoon

On UNC-TV tonight with the moonlighting Bob GARNER.

Frozen Fruit Myths…Debunked! - Wild Blueberries

So I guess if I freeze 1 lb of fresh blueberries, and assuming that the freezing container is air tight, the result will be 1 lb of frozen blueberries? If that is so, where does the liquid come from that one usually finds in thawing frozen blueberries?

The Fake Meat Industry's Quest To Make Faux Taste Real : NPR

Makes tremendous good sense....

"KUMMER: Well, in fact what everybody who's making these alternative says is I am not aiming for the vegan market. I'm not going to make a dent in the environment if I'm only trying to appeal to vegans. And so other companies - for example, Hampton Creek which makes just mayo from isolated vegetable pea proteins, which is the chief ingredient in the Beast Burger from Beyond Meat - they won't even use the V word. What they're interested in doing is bringing a affordable, wholesome proteins to the widest masses that they can because if you give people something cheap and usable that tastes good and they don't need to buy something that harms the environment or, you know, in the case of animals, animal welfare. It's a big motivation for a lot of people who get into it. Just give people what they want, what they can use and what they can afford."

Buy Flax Seed and Coconut Oils at Carrington Farms

Nothing  pops up when I try to access the organic version of this.

Mark Bittman | A Bone to Pick: The Good and Bad News About Food

I am sure it is useful, but appears to be regurgitated columns.

Feed the Need 2015 | News and Observer News and Observer

Interesting initiative but I still think money can be used so much more wisely.
