Seems really worthwhile.
Why don't we have supermarkets in the US that ask customers to pay ahead for people in difficulty? Honor system. Offer only good stuff. Post on a board and let people help themselves. Monitor how it works. In France, it might be a baguette or a coffee; in NC it could be a pound of sweet potatoes or a gallon of milk?
