Defrost frozen fish in original plastic packaging. Safe? - General Topics - Chowhound

Defrost frozen fish in original plastic packaging. Safe? - General Topics - Chowhound: "The curious thing about seafood is that when in an anaerobic (airless) environment, there is a chance of the formation of the bacteria Clostridium botulinum, also known as C-bot, a cause of food poisoning. By removing the packaging, you eliminate the risk of C-bot contamination. Just to be on the safe side, the FDA requires these guidelines for all vacuum-packed seafood"
I called Kroger at 1-800-632-6900 to ask about their Pink Salmon Fillets (their spelling of Filets) which bears the warning: "REMOVE FISH FROM VACUUM POUCH BEFORE THAWING".

  1. Many Food packaging companies use recyled material to pack food which safe and less costly. This companies work hard of eco friendly and easy to dispose. Many companies make good design food packing products which are attractive.
